Hi all! We’re searching for a new freelance content editor & registry coordinator to assist with all of the happenings here at The Good Beginning. The content editor would be responsible for the following:
BE THE LIASON FOR REGISTRANTS & GUESTS
The Good Beginning is still a relatively new registry option in the wedding world. That said, the content editor would answer emails Monday through Friday from couples and their guests on how the site works as well as troubleshooting issues during the registry process including building the registries on behalf of the couple as needed.
CREATE NEW CONTENT AS WELL AS SOURCE & MANAGE GUEST POSTS
Our blog, The Daily Give, is a source of inspirational content for engaged or recently married conscious couples. This position would require one original post per week on a variety of topics interesting to brides, grooms, wedding parties, etc including topics like weekend dating guides for the socially conscious couple, finding sustainable wedding attire for the bridal party, designing a home that gives back and more. In addition, this position would work with both industry leaders in the wedding world as well as social impact influencers to identify both original and previously published content that may be of interest to our readers. The content editor would be responsible for identifying and publishing one to two guest posts per week.
MANAGE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS
UPDATING CHARITIES ELIGIBLE FOR THE REGISTRY
As couples request new charities on the site, the content editor would research the organizations accordingly to ensure their 501(c)3 status and update accordingly.
UPDATING THE WEBSITE AS NEEDED
Adding press to our press page and updating new information as needed.
MANAGING DISSEMINATION OF FUNDS
Every month, the registry coordinator would turn over a list of donations per wedding and charity to be disseminated to our founder for payment as well as update the internal bookkeeping system as payments are distributed.
ASSISTING WITH SPECIAL PROJECTS AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES AS NEEDED
The Good Beginning is a growing effort and the content editor would be requested to assist with special projects such as registry collaborations with retailers, wedding vendors, advertisers as well as photoshoots and collaborations with active charities as needed. On occasion, the content editor would be required to liaise with and support our public relations team for press submissions and requests.
TIME COMMITMENT & REQUIRMENTS
The position is a part time, freelance position with a minimum time commitment of 15 hours a month and would not exceed 30 hours a month. Blog experience and/or Social Media management preferred. Experience in the wedding and/or gift registry industry a plus. Must be highly proficient in the WordPress platform.
