Dallas Youth Sports

Dallas Youth Sports, in conjunction with Dallas Youth Athletic Association, works to provide affordable recreational sports programs to the youth of the Dallas-Oak Cliff area.

Founded by a volunteer board, Dallas Youth Sports continues to operate through the generosity of members of our own community. Our staff organizes sports leagues, tournaments, and special events throughout the year in order to reach as many children as possible.

We help our inner city youth develop athletic skills, healthy living habits, and leadership qualities by building a team concept at an early age. This enhances each child personally, athletically, and academically.

Bartam’s Garden

Bartram’s Garden is a public park and 50-acre National Historic Landmark, operated by the non-profit John Bartram Association in cooperation with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and welcoming an estimated 100,000 visitors each year.

In December 2020, the John Bartram Association Board of Directors adopted the following vision and mission after a seven-month process led by a committee comprised of Board and staff:

Vision
Bartram’s Garden is a place and an aspirational vision for the future, where:

  • Public spaces are centers of welcome, respite, and celebration.
  • Nature and the environment are accessible and inviting to everyone.
  • People decide what happens in their own communities.
  • Historic places seek to repair our fraught legacies.

The mission of the John Bartram Association is to create equitable relationships among people and nature through immersive, community-driven experiences that activate the Bartram legacy, Garden, and House, on land and on the Schuylkill River, in Southwest Philadelphia.

Additionally, 4Paws is dedicated to supporting the management of populations and improving the health of feral cat colonies. 4Paws volunteers also hold seminars in local schools to teach children the importance of responsible pet care.
