Matt and I met for the first time at a Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity build when we were in college and he was the Volunteer Coordinator. Matt believes deeply in – and, as a member of the Board of Trustees for the last several years, has helped shaped – the Cleveland Habitat model of providing affordable housing to families that need it and rehabilitating existing homes and neighborhoods to build a stronger Cleveland community.

After college, I served as a Peace Corps Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Volunteer in Panama. I believe strongly in the Peace Corps approach to sustainable development, empowering people to be their own change agents in their communities and providing them tools to do so, while being immersed in a community to understand and share deeply with its people.
