Humane Society for Southwest Washington

Founded in 1897, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington is the oldest and largest animal welfare organization in Southwest Washington. Each year, HSSW provides thousands of pets with shelter, medical care, behavior support, and a second chance for a happy home. Our commitment to the people and pets of our community extends beyond the shelter, offering Wellness Clinics for the pets of houseless families, pet food assistance, spay & neuter clinics, and other programs that help keep families together.

We also own and operate ReTails Thrift Store – named best of Clark County seven years running! Giving new life to gently-used items, every purchase and donation at ReTails supports our lifesaving work with the animals.

Ninth Life Rescue Center

Based in Greensburg, and serving the Westmoreland, Fayette and Allegheny county region, Ninth Life Rescue Center is a no-kill, all volunteer, foster-based rescue. We are currently fundraising to move into a brick and mortar location to save even more lives! Known for medical cases, we take in a lot of badly injured and extremely sick cats, kittens and dogs. We are fortunate to work very closely with our vet, All Pets Hospital, to save as many lives as we possibly can. We support our community by only taking in local animals, by hosting neuter clinics, providing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) to help reduce the feral stray population, and adopting out our fully vetted animals.

4 Paws Rescue Foundation

4 Paws Rescue Foundation is dedicated to helping the cats and kittens trying to survive on the streets. Each year, we trap, neuter and return (TNR) several hundred cats. We take in the adoptable kittens and cats, get all of their vetting done and put them into foster care until they find their furever homes.

Because we do not operate out of a shelter or have a facility in which to house our adoptable cats and kittens, we rely heavily on fosters who open their hearts and their homes, offering lots of love and care until they find their furever homes. Once the foster families start working with kittens that have never been handled and tame them down, they blossom and flourish which makes them absolute sweethearts and able to be adopted out!

We show at Petco and we have heard time and time again how sweet and beautiful our kittens and cats are! That is because lots of love, time and patience is given to each kitty.

FuraPawsitiveFuture

Our mission is simple, we want to affect pawsitive change in the lives of stray, feral, and community cats through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and, when sick or ill, to cover the cost of small medical bills. We would also like to raise funds to help transport friendly strays from the streets of Houston to their forever homes whenever possible.
