Using boats or working from shore, Ocean Defenders Alliance (ODA) removes man-made debris ranging from every kind of abandoned fishing gear to plastic trash.
ODA works in both California and Hawai’i to preserve the precious biodiversity of ocean life in coastal waters. Removing hazardous debris such as fishing nets, lines, traps, and a myriad of trash including all kinds of plastic, ODA seeks to make waters safe allowing wildlife to thrive. ODA was founded in 2000 and remains the only nonprofit in these areas dedicated solely to cleaning the ocean of debris.
