Regardless of religious background, practice, or belief, every student that enrolls in Nativity School is instilled with the values outlined in this prayer.

History of Konspicuous Foundation
“Being Konspicuous” and the Konspicuous concept started on November 22nd, 1986 on the campus Tennessee State University, TSU, in Nashville, TN. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Theta Chapter introduced its newest and long-awaited inductees, 29 young men to the TSU campus during a football game vs. Alabama A&M University. The magnitude of the celebration following the induction carried over to the football game taking place. The distinctive crimson sport coats they wore along with the commotion from the celebration caught everyone’s attention and the entire stadium was focusing on this moment.
This event inspired the name Konspicuous 29 ®. Spelled with a K as a standout from the C spelling, the word Konspicuous means “attracting notice or attention or boldly standing out as part of a collective”. Since that time, Konspicuous 29 committed to live up to its name and constantly challenge the notions of indistinct, ordinary, or subtle. In all endeavors we ALWAYS ask the question “Was it Konspicuous?”
The Konspicuous Foundation was founded to help apply its meaning to HBCU students, HBCU alumni, HBCUs, and Donors. We want to actively engage each of these areas and help them to Be Heard, Be Seen, Be Konspicuous in support of the of Konspicuous Foundation mission, goals, and objectives.
The Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund (SURJ-EF) works to educate white people about racism and move them to take action for racial and economic justice. Study and personal transformation are critical for those of us who are white. We have so much to learn and unlearn about racism and white supremacy. And we believe it’s essential to not stop there— we must pair our learning with organizing and action. SURJ-EF supports organizing and education projects throughout the South, in Ohio, and in our Disability and Faith programs.
At SURJ-EF, we believe we must have an inclusive, openhearted approach to organizing— bringing more and more people into this work rather than creating barriers to participation— while maintaining clear commitments to justice.
We ground our organizing in a “mutual interest” approach— meaning that fighting racism is not something we are called to help people of color with, but rather something all white people will benefit from. Many white people stand to gain much from joining fights for justice because of the systemic oppression they face because of their class, gender, or disability. And all white people suffer from white supremacy, this destructive system that tears us up from the inside out. We have everything to gain— materially or spiritually— by joining alongside communities of color to fight for justice.
Complete the form to add the organization, and we will do all the backend paperwork needed to get everything set up to receive gifts.
