For over a century, Butte Humane Society (BHS) has opened its arms to the lost, the scared, and the forgotten animals of Butte County and beyond. We’re a limited-admission shelter, a safe haven where scared eyes find comfort and wagging tails rediscover joy. Since 1911, we haven’t just cared for animals, we’ve given them a second chance at love. Will you walk beside us? Together, we will create a future where every animal finds a loving home, where empty bowls are a thing of the past, where veterinary care is accessible, and where responsible pet ownership is the norm.
