Peace4Kids guides youth to the discovery that they’re not alone. Nurturing lasting relationships with youth who have experienced the disruptions of foster care gives them the confidence to own their story and to determine how it impacts their lives.
We’re an intergenerational community. Including adults with a lived care experience provides unique benefits to both youth and adults as they learn and grow together. By intentionally encouraging foster and extended families to join our village, our community is stronger than ever.
Alight is built on the way we see people. Understanding that a life is about so much more than simply satisfying basic needs, we’re working on how best to help the people we serve find connection, purpose and joy in the challenging situations they find themselves in today.
We are dedicated to the principles that: abundance is everywhere; humans deserve human worthy service; radical accountability transforms our impact; everyone has the power to make change through democratic co-design; and by scaling deep we can rise to the size of the problem while staying close enough to respond to each individual.
We enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.
The Haight Ashbury Food Program was founded in 1983 as a neighborhood response to hunger. We exist to provide food and referral services to those in need while fostering a sense of belonging and self worth for all involved.
We operate a food pantry every Saturday.

We strive to help individuals and families in Maine meet their basic, material needs by providing donated clothing, hygiene products, household items, and other necessities. We focus our work on those starting life over from scratch: domestic abuse survivors, asylum seekers and those facing financial hardships. We partner with schools, caseworkers, teachers, nurses and professional care providers to provide these material resources.
Players for Pits guiding mission is to help “pit bull type dogs” that end up at our local open access animal controls in our hometown area of Chicago as well as nationally. We strive to give dogs another chance to become an integral part of our communities by matching them with families that will advocate and love them forever. Our goal is to decrease the amount of “pit bull type dogs” dying in our local shelters and help Chicago & the entire nation become no-kill.
e believe in engaging our community in the process of helping pets in need through education, enrichment, fostering, transportation, and adoption. By including the community in this process we can help to expand the reach of resources in providing abandoned animals with a second chance at a wonderful life. By providing kindness, compassion, and enrichment to animals in need we believe we can create an experience that circles around to providing the same experience back to the community volunteering in the process. By fulfilling our mission statement it helps the animals and the people dedicating their time to being part of this process.
