It seems like all good ideas are hatched over a bottle of wine. In late 2007 at a monthly networking event, a light bulb materialized above our heads. “Wouldn’t it be great if we could make an event that would bring members of the local wedding industry together AND raise money for a great cause?” A novel idea, there was nothing like it. 7 of us wedding professionals banded together to do what we do best: throw a big party to give back to the community.
Over the next several of months, Get Hitched, Give Hope was born.
Get Hitched Give Hope’s mission is to bring the community together through niche events like our annual bridal auction gala while raising money for a great cause. The 501c3 organization is powered 100% by volunteers in order to maximize donations to our beneficiaries. Board members, team members, designers, performers, and event staff have donated an endless amount of hours, services, and products to make GHGH’s mission a reality. The organization produces the Get Hitched Give Hope Gala, Hope Chest, and Hope Brew annually.
This is a group photo of the night where we first dreamt of GHGH in 2007:
Get Hitched Give Hope is proud to partner with Dream Foundation and Young Survival Coalition to help carry out final dreams and provide support for survivors.
